NZDF offers over 100 different career paths across Navy, Army and Air Force. Our challenge was to showcase this depth of roles while making the pathways clear and accessible for potential recruits. Their existing platform struggled with complex navigation and outdated design that didn't align with NZDF's current brand voice and campaign messaging. Leading the project's UX and design, I ran workshops and research sessions to understand both recruit and staff needs. This informed a complete redesign of the site's architecture and the development of a new design system. One of the key focuses was an overhaul of the role cards to work harder, providing information at a glance to help potential recruits quickly understand each opportunity. The intuitive search offers real-time suggestions as you type, while filters allow users to quickly narrow down their career options. Behind the scenes, we structured the Silverstripe CMS to make content management intuitive for regional teams. The result is a system that's both powerful for potential recruits and simple for staff to maintain.
